Give by Cash, Check, or Credit Card to Support Nonprofit Hospice Care
Giving by cash, check, or credit card is one of the simplest and most common ways to make an immediate charitable contribution to Sangre de Cristo Community Care, a nonprofit hospice organization dedicated to exceptional patient care. If you itemize tax deductions, your annual gift may qualify for a full tax deduction, offering an immediate financial benefit for your generosity.
Just as important, your donation creates real, immediate impact. Every gift demonstrates your commitment to compassionate care and directly supports the patients and families we serve each day. Your contribution helps ensure that every individual receives the comfort, dignity, and support they deserve—when they need it most.
Tribute Gifts
Pay tribute to the important people in your life with a heartfelt gift to Sangre de Cristo Community Care. Tribute gifts are a beautiful way to honor a friend, family member, or loved one while supporting compassionate patient care in our community. You may choose to make a tribute in memory of someone, or celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or other special milestone with a gift that makes a lasting impact.
Memorial Gifts
Memorial Wall at the Joni Fair Hospice House
The Sangre de Cristo Community Care Memorial Wall, located at the Joni Fair Hospice House, serves as a beautiful and enduring tribute to friends, family members, and colleagues who are honored through memorial gifts.
When memorial contributions made in an individual’s name reach a total of $500 or more, their name is added to the wall as a lasting reminder of their impact and legacy.
Obituary Notifications
Honoring Loved Ones Through Memorial Giving
Families may choose to include an “in lieu of flowers” request in an obituary to support compassionate hospice care. Suggested wording may read:
“In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sangre de Cristo Community Care, either online at sangre.org or mailed to 1920 Valley Drive, Pueblo, CO 81008.”
To ensure all gifts are properly acknowledged and families receive notification, please contact our Philanthropy Department at 719-242-3503 or donations@sangre.org
Memorial contributions made in honor of a loved one directly support our nonprofit mission and help provide exceptional patient care to families across Southern Colorado.

In-Kind Donations
In-kind donations of goods or services play a vital role in supporting the comfort, relief, and well-being of the patients and families we serve at Sangre de Cristo Community Care. These contributions directly enhance our nonprofit mission and help us provide essential items that bring strength and support during challenging times.
To ensure we can accept and properly use your gift, please contact our Philanthropy Department at 719-242-3503 or donations@sangre.org to learn which types of in-kind goods and services are currently needed.
Important: Due to infection control guidelines, donors must call prior to delivering any donated items or equipment.
Your thoughtful in-kind contribution helps us provide compassionate, meaningful care to our community.
Real Estate/Property Gifts
A charitable contribution of real estate or property is a powerful way to support Sangre de Cristo Community Care while receiving valuable financial benefits. Eligible property types may include your personal residence, vacation home, farm, commercial real estate, or vacant land.
Gifts of appreciated property often qualify for an immediate charitable tax deduction and may help you avoid capital gains tax on the property’s appreciation. In most cases, the deduction is based on the current fair market value of the property, creating a meaningful tax advantage while making a lasting difference for patients and families in our care.
For more information about donating real estate or property, please contact our Philanthropy Department at 719-242-3503 or donations@sangre.org
Stock Gifts
Donating publicly traded securities, such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds, is one of the most tax-efficient ways to support Sangre de Cristo Community Care. These assets are easy to value, do not require an appraisal, and can be transferred quickly—making them an ideal choice for charitable giving.
When you donate appreciated securities before selling them, you may receive significant tax advantages. In most cases, your charitable tax deduction is based on the current fair market value of the asset, and because the gift is made prior to sale, no capital gains tax is owed on the appreciation.
Your gift helps ensure that patients and families receive the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve.
