Blessing of the Hands

January 25, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Blessing of the Hands is a tradition for Sangre de Cristo Hospice Volunteers and is in January as a symbol of healing, wellness, and strength.
When we reach our hands out and use our sense of touch to provide care and comfort, we are saying to those receiving our efforts that they are important to us. We value them and the work our hands provide.

Sangre Volunteer Blessing of the Hands ceremony is delivered within the context of an interfaith benediction with all religious traditions respected.

The ritual is brief, lasting only a moment or two but is powerful in meaning to those who receive it.

The blessing helps to recharge depleted spirits and raise morale.

It’s performed by Volunteer Eucharistic Ministers, a special and touching opportunity of healing, affirmation, and renewal.

Human touch is a crucial part of all aspects of health care.

Sangre de Cristo Community Care would like to honor those who serve our community not only in health care but those who serve in emergency services and law enforcement with a Blessing of the Hands from 10 a.m., January 25, in La Junta.
