Home Care We Provide We Honor Veterans

Sangre de Cristo Community Care is a Level Five We Honor Veterans partner, the highest distinction in hospice veteran care, providing specialized support with dignity.

Serving Those Who Have Served Our Country

Few people understand service and sacrifice quite like veterans—and at Sangre de Cristo Community Care, we are honored to provide them with specialized hospice care rooted in respect, dignity, and unwavering support.

As a Level Five We Honor Veterans partner—the highest recognition in hospice veteran care—we are uniquely equipped to understand the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs veterans may carry from their time in the military. When veterans are living with serious illness or approaching the end of life, our expert interdisciplinary teams provide compassionate care that honors their service and supports their personal goals.

We address the unique challenges veterans may face, including service-connected conditions, unresolved trauma, and other forms of suffering related to their military experience. Our focus is to help each veteran achieve comfort, peace, and meaningful resolution.

Families of veterans also receive comprehensive support, including guidance with health care decision-making, grief resources, and connections to veteran-specific benefits and community programs.

At Sangre, we are dedicated to ensuring every veteran is cared for with the honor, gratitude, and specialized attention they deserve.

Veterans Supporting Veterans With Honor and Purpose

Our Vet-to-Vet Volunteer Program pairs military veterans with the veterans we serve—because nobody understands a veteran like a fellow veteran. Through this meaningful connection, our veteran volunteers deliver military service pins, award patriotic blankets, share stories, and offer companionship rooted in shared experience and respect.

For many volunteers, this program provides a renewed sense of purpose and the opportunity to honor the service of their brothers and sisters in arms. For the veterans in our care, it brings comfort, pride, and a deep feeling of being truly understood.

This veteran-to-veteran bond is one of the most meaningful ways we honor those who served.
